Wickes remains cheaper, while B&Q improves its service proposition. Our updated Wickes noted.
basket, spanning both branded and own-label lines, indicates pricing at c.-2% versus B&Q at a
headline level. As in our prior review, the differential widens once trade discounts and delivery
charges are included, with Wickes now c.-6% cheaper on an all-in basis, broadly consistent
with earlier findings. Across the sample, Wickes continues to lead on fulfilment, with c.90% of
products available for Click & Collect within 15 minutes and majority access to next-day and
three-hour delivery options, albeit at slightly higher price points (now £5 and £11, respectively,
vs £4 and £10 previously). Interestingly, B&Q has improved its service proposition, with 15-
minute Click & Collect now available on c.70% of the basket, a material step-up versus our last
survey; however, most items remain on a 3–6 day delivery window.
