Annual Russell Indices Rebalancing: Market Impact & Timeline. Each year, the Russell indices

undergo a rebalancing to adapt to evolving market conditions. The official ranking day for US

companies was April 30th, but the preliminary list of changes was published on May 22nd, and

the constitution membership was locked in as of June 8th. This has the potential to trigger a

noticeable surge in short-term trading for stocks added or repositioned within the indices. The

official rebalancing will take place on June 26 after the market closes, and passive/index funds

must finalize trades to align with the new index compositions by market open on June 29th. We
