HOVR Overview. Horizon Aircraft is developing the Cavorite X7, a seven-seat hybrid eVTOL

designed to take off and land like a helicopter while flying most of its mission like a conventional

aircraft. The aircraft targets speeds up to 250 mph, range of 500+ miles, and a 1,500 lb useful

load, with Horizon prioritizing safety, performance, and operational utility rather than short-range

air taxi frequency. Mgmt framed the aircraft as complementary to all-electric eVTOLs, which are

better suited to shorter-distance, high-frequency routes, while Horizon is targeting longer-range

missions, bad weather / cold weather operations, and use cases where helicopters are expensive

thousands of pounds of batteries and require charging infrastructure, Horizon’s hybrid-electric

design uses hundreds of pounds of batteries, jet fuel, and an onboard turbine generator to recharge
