Firestorm Background: A Distributed Manufacturing And UAS Platform. Firestorm’s mission is to
rebuild the defense industrial base through distributed manufacturing and open-source software,
initially focused on the UAS market. Core infrastructure includes xCell, an industrial-grade mobile
3D printing microfactory, Firestorm OS on the drone, and Crucible software to coordinate xCell
networks and regional manufacturing centers. Current applications include Firestorm platforms,
Department of War replacement parts/prototypes/spares, and repair or production support for
third-party platforms.
xCell Bringing Manufacturing To The Point Of Need. xCell is designed to bring industrial-grade
manufacturing closer to the point of need, including contested logistics environments where
returning parts to the U.S. creates delays. The system can be deployed anywhere in the world in a
day, set up in 4 hours, and loaded into a C-130 or moved by boat as a 20-foot shipping container.
