GTA VI was the elephant in the room at Summer Games Fest: We continue to miss E3 proper,

but last week held the annual June game announcement shows of Sony State of Play, Summer

Games Fest, and the Xbox Showcase. Notably absent was any news for GTA VI, but we were not

surprised. Rockstar rarely attends big industry showcases, preferring to run its own events/trailer

reveals to be the sole focus. However, GTA VI's presence was absolutely felt in the release calendar.

With the 2026 release slate fully mapped out after last week's announcements, there are notably

more launches in September and early October than usual, and none in November.
