Given prospects for a Middle East peace deal appear to be inching closer (although we have
seen this before to only be disappointed in recent months), we figured it would be
worthwhile to revisit industry capacity and carrier level growth ambitions during the peak
summer travel period. Please see Figure 1, where we highlight Domestic US industry capacity
growth is tracking up only 40bps for the second and third quarters. Further, we expect
downward revisions to out months are likely given July industry capacity is down 0.5% but
September remains up 1.5%. Given limited domestic industry expansion, especially following
the liquidation of Spirit in early May (which removed 1-2% of industry capacity), we see strong
revenue guidance from most airlines for the second quarter supporting industry revenue growth
of 12-14 %, with nearly all of the growth coming as higher yields. We suspect as the year
