Preparing for Section 232 solar impacts

The Section 232 tariff's potential magnitude and impacts on solar end-demand were key

topics at this year's conference. Broadly, solar developers highlighted offtakers were

willing to negotiate PPAs to account for higher module input costs, with tariff clauses

already in many contracts, underpinned by solar+storage's cost and speed to market

advantages.

Domestic module manufacturers were positive on their ability to increase ASPs

significantly following the implementation of Section 232 tariffs. Module customers also

spoke of likely higher prices following a tariff that would likely be passed on to the PPA

offtaker.
