UK Altnet – Xantaro expands GoFibre partnership

Xantaro has expanded its partnership with Scottish altnet GoFibre to include fully

integrated street cabinet solutions and a managed service offering, supporting GoFibre's

Project Gigabit-funded network rollout. The deployment will run during 2026 and builds on

a long-term partnership between Xantaro and Nokia. GoFibre has been awarded two UK

government-funded Project Gigabit contracts worth c.£130m to connect c.76k premises

across the Scottish Borders, East Lothian and the North East. The Xantaro turnkey solution

comprises pre-configured cabinets with heat exchanger technology, Nokia Optical Line

Telia – Nkom expands Telia Norway security probe

Norwegian telecoms regulator Nkom is expanding the scope of its supervision of Telia

Norway after a series of security breaches. A February data breach involved the leak of

significant volumes of information. An April incident allowed callers to obtain customer

location data. In late May, Telia identified and remedied a vulnerability that enabled

telephone number spoofing, though it found no evidence of criminal exploitation. Nkom

had already planned an inspection but will now conduct a more comprehensive review of

Telia's overall security work alongside investigating the individual incidents. Telia's

management will meet Nkom this week. CEO John-Eivind Celure said the watchdog

considers the breaches serious. Nkom has also notified Lyse Tele, owner of mobile operator
