US LNG export pace rising consern ?

US exports down 8% on-week, up 18% on-year

According to the EIA, 29 large LNG vessels with a combined carrying capacity of 111 Bcf (3.2 BCM)

departed the US during the week ending last Wednesday. That was down 8% from the previous week,

extending a downward trend that has been in place since late February. However, exports remained

18% above the corresponding week last year.

Lowest exports since September last year raising concerns

Despite solid year-on-year growth, last week's export volume was the lowest since week 37

(September) last year, raising some concerns about the current state of US liquefaction activity and

LNG exports. Maintenance work remains the most likely explanation for the recent weakness, although

the trend warrants close monitoring.

Henry at $3 implies adequate access to feed-gas

Feed-gas supply does not appear to be the constraining factor. Henry Hub continues to trade around

$3/MMBtu, suggesting that the overall US gas supply-demand balance remains healthy and that LNG

facilities should have adequate access to feed-gas.

Notable source of price support

We expect exports to recover in the weeks ahead as maintenance activity subsides. Nevertheless,
