Meet the Analysts

Emmanuel Cau is a Managing Director and Head of

European Equity Strategy, based in London. His team

produces research aimed at advising institutional

investors on global equity and cross market positioning.

Emmanuel joined Barclays in 2018, having previously

spent 14 years at J.P. Morgan as a global equity strategist.

Emmanuel holds a Master’s in Finance from ESCP Europe

and is a CFA charterholder. He ranked top 3 for Equity

Strategy in the 2025 Extel survey, and was the 6th ranked

analyst across all categories, sectors and regions.

Warren Ackerman heads our top-ranked European

Consumer Staples team. He has been #1 ranked analyst in

his sector in the Institutional Investor survey for past 3

years. This year he was also voted #1 individual analyst in

Europe across all equity sectors. His team are top-ranked

in Food Producers, Beverages, HPC and Tobacco. Warren

provides broad sector knowledge, with a wealth of

industry contacts. He focuses on deep dive research. He is

also a columnist for the influential Grocer magazine.

Warren has 25 years’ experience in the sector. He studied

Economics at Exeter University.

Viktoria (Vika) Petrova is a senior research analyst at

Barclays. Vika leads the European Consumer Discretionary

& Retail equity research franchise, where she oversees the

Luxury, General, and Food Retail teams. Key areas of focus

include global cross-sector collaboration, data-led

insights, and deep industry immersion. Vika brings 20

years of experience, including lead analyst roles at Credit

Suisse (Food Retail) and Bank of America (HPC & Food).
