Meet the Speakers

Dr. Jordan Axelrad, MD, MPH, is Co-Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)

Center at NYU Langone Health (05/2024–present). He previously served as Director of

Research (08/2023–04/2024) and Director of Clinical and Translational Research (07/2021–

08/2023) at the IBD Center. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of

Gastroenterology, Department of Medicine, at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine

(04/2023–present), where he previously held appointments as Assistant Professor

(06/2019–03/2023) and Instructor (07/2018–06/2019).

Dr. Axelrad is a member of multiple gastrointestinal societies and contributes to IBD

guideline development and medical education programs. He serves as principal

investigator for numerous clinical trials and registries and mentors medical students,

residents, and fellows in clinical and translational research. His research—funded by the

Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, the Judith and Stewart Colton Center for Autoimmunity,

and the National Institutes of Health—focuses on IBD epidemiology, environmental and

infectious triggers of disease onset and flare, and predictive models of therapeutic

response.
