Timken Co: Thoughts Post '26 Investor Day: Transformation Is Just Getting Into Motion

IdeaMterm outlook and algorithm as simply the foundation of what could be an even

stronger Timken business in FY28+. This bolsters our conviction that the stock is

likely to continue on a re-rating trajectory and thus our Overweight rating on the

shares. Accordingly, we are raising our PT to $140 (from $125), based on 22.5x our

above-consensus FY26 EPS estimate of $6.22 (previously ~20x).

With respect to its FY25-28 organic sales growth algorithm of MSD%, we believe

management has taken a measured approach. Within the ~500bps of organic

contribution are a 350-400bps of market growth assumption (of which ~100bps is

price), 50-100bps of outgrowth in strategic verticals and another 30-50bps of

global platform expansion. Several data points reinforce our view that this

represents a conservative outlook: Linear Motion is tracking to grow ~50% in North

America in 2026, supporting the view that regional translation playbook is working

in real time and well ahead of the 30–50 bps annual platform-expansion

contribution embedded in the model. The 80/20 strategy rewards Lagersmit seals

with 2x the capex allocation for its 7-yr, 10%+ CAGR. The humanoid pipeline ($100M

+ identified, tens of millions quoted, prototypes delivered) do not appear to be

embedded in targets at all. Further, we find the One Timken go-to-market strategy

to be an especially compelling improvement from legacy Timken. By selling a

system of solutions as opposed to single components, Timken can not only expand

its content / wallet share within a customer, but materially improve its efficiency for

both Timken (i.e. one sales person vs. several) and the customer (single point of

contact in some cases).
