Environment

The company is engaged in a range of environmental conservation efforts in the areas

of product development, manufacturing processes, logistics, store operations, and

offices. The company’s product development efforts include using eco-friendly

materials in the development of products and simplifying product packaging.

Manufacturing process efforts include promoting the efficient use of wood by utilizing

the timber offcuts generated at the production stage as reinforcing structures for

furniture at its factories in Vietnam and Indonesia and as fuel for boilers used to dry

paint. In logistics, the company works to reduce CO2 emissions by improving the

efficiency of product transportation and via other measures. The company also

promotes energy conservation and the utilization of eco-friendly packing materials at

its stores and promotes paperless environments and power-saving activities at its

offices. In August 2024, the company set its goals for 2050 with the establishment of

Nitori Group Green Vision 2050, a comprehensive plan aimed at achieving various

targets based on three themes: the promotion of circular business, sustainable

procurement, and a response to climate change.

Social

The company works to promote diversity, cultivate human resources through its

in-house education systems (commonly referred to as “Nitori University”), and

eliminate injustice, unfairness, or opaqueness while building trust with its partners.
