The company since its founding has developed its business with the aim of "benefiting

customers and society by eliminating waste, inconsistencies, and overburdening in

the distribution and retail industry and realizing low costs." In 2021, it established as

its purpose to "enrich every aspect of people's lives through all we do," and its vision

to "revolutionize ‘real commerce’ around the globe with technology and practical

savvy." The basic sustainability policy of the group is to “collaborate with other

companies to realize the purpose and the vision across corporate boundaries, and to

maximize two values: the development and growth of the Group and the development

and growth of society as a whole.”

Environment

Cooperating with Fukushima Galilei, the company worked to save energy in air

conditioning and freezing/refrigeration cases in its stores through the leveraging of AI

technology, which resulted in its receiving the Ministry of Economy, Trade and

Industry’s Minister Prize for excellent energy conservation equipment in 2019. It

established the Kyushu Logistics Study Group in August 2022 with nine retail and

transportation companies, including Aeon Kyushu, and the Hokkaido Logistics Study

Group in May 2023 with 13 companies, including Aeon Hokkaido, to examine how to

solve challenges, including those associated with decarbonization and the so-called

“Year 2024 problem” that are having an impact on logistics companies across the

board.
