This week, our proprietary bi-weekly BofA Truckload Demand Indicator for shippers' 0-

Equityto 3-month freight demand outlook increased slightly to 63.4 (the second highest

Americaslevel since April ‘22), from 62.8 last survey. The sustained strength in our BofA Truck Road Transport/Trucking

Shipper Survey Demand Indicator (8-week avg is 62.6), and stable- to-modestly-improving

demand commentary from Truck carriers at our 33rd Annual BofA Industrials,

Transportation, and Airlines Key Leaders Conference this week (see Conf note) augurs well

for the long awaited cycle inflection after ~4 years of a Freight Recession. Our survey

suggests underlying demand is holding in despite concerns of demand destruction from

elevated fuel prices. The Demand Indicator is up 20% yr-yr. Additionally, pricing continues

to scale upwards on accelerating capacity removal alongside steady demand (well timed

into the end of truck contract bid season). The Capacity Indicator increased modestly to

30.2, yet has remained near its lowest levels since Aug ’21 over the past 8 weeks,

highlighting the widespread impact of the truck capacity removal. Rail carloads were up

1.1% yr-yr this week. DAT Dry van spot linehaul rates (ex-fuel) remained flat at $1.83/mile
