Meet the Analysts

Laurence Whyatt is a Managing Director and leads the

European Beverages Equity Research team ranked #1 in

2024 and 2025. His research is driven by bottom up

modelling and focusses heavily on the impact of changing

demographics on alcohol consumption. Laurence joined

Barclays in 2018 from Société Générale where he covered

the Global Beverages sector since 2015. Prior to moving

into Equity Research, Laurence was a Corporate Financier

at both UBS and Investec where he covered the UK and

European markets in M&A, ECM and Corporate Broking. He

graduated from St Edmund Hall, Oxford, with a MEng in

Materials Science and holds WSET Levels 2 & 3 with

Distinctions in all modules.

Viktoria (Vika) Petrova is a senior research analyst at

Barclays. Vika leads the European Consumer Discretionary

& Retail equity research franchise, where she oversees the

Luxury, General, and Food Retail teams. Key areas of focus

include global cross-sector collaboration, data-led

insights, and deep industry immersion. Vika brings 20

years of experience, including lead analyst roles at Credit

Suisse (Food Retail) and Bank of America (HPC & Food).

She holds a Master’s of Science in Finance from the

Humboldt University of Berlin.
