investor day featured sessions with the CEO, CRO and CFO who all touched on APPN’s growth
drivers. The primary growth vectors discussed were AI-driven application development (APPN's
Composer solution and agents), legacy application modernization, and deeper penetration
within existing large customers. A clear, bigger emphasis from the mgmt. team was around the
legacy migration opportunity, as AI makes it easier for APPN to modernize old legacy
applications, and its security/governance features can provide the guardrails to make the

for example, APPN’s competitor Pegasystems has been talking about the legacy app
modernization opportunity for quite some time with its Blueprint offering, along with database

solid value proposition and AI clearly has the potential to create more opportunities for new
app development on the platform. Appian disclosed ~$100mn in Advanced Tier ARR (which
~40% of customer base has some element of) but overall AI monetization is still early. APPN
showed AI usage jumped considerably in Q1 '26, but it seems like it will take some time for
customers to burn through initial credits that come with the Advanced Tier and AI consumption
