• Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt vetoed SB 1589, which would have banned sweepstakes

casinos despite overwhelming legislative support (65-21 in the House, 48-0 in the

Senate), handing sweepstakes-style operators a rare win (here)

• Louisiana's Senate unanimously passed HB 883 (35-0) to ban dual-currency

sweepstakes casinos by amending the state's "gambling by computer" statute, following

a 99-0 House vote; the bill returns to the House for concurrence before heading to Gov.

Landry, whose veto of a similar ban last year leaves the fate of both HB 883 and the

previously passed racketeering bill HB 53
