in both cost and efficiency compared with traditional ex vivo CAR-T. By engineering a
patient’s T cells directly within the body, in vivo CAR-T eliminates the need for complex,
costly and time-consuming ex vivo manufacturing. According to the expert, large scale
industrial production could reduce manufacturing costs to hundreds of US dollars per
vial. In China, most in vivo CAR-T programmes are currently conducted under
investigator-initiated trials (IITs), with a lack of robust late-stage clinical validation.
Current development is concentrated in oncology and autoimmune diseases, focusing
on validated targets such as CD19 and BCMA. There are two mainstream delivery
